The Olive Bowl - Wedding services
As caterers, The Olive Bowl offers all the obvious services that any standard caterer would offer. However what makes us different is we also offer a lot more... We can personally provide all of the services listed below, for example hog roasts, crockery, cutlery and glassware hire, BBQs. The list goes on. If there is something you need for your wedding day or event, then we can nearly always source a professional and reliable supplier and coordinate directly with them so you don't have to stress about the logistics of your wedding day or event.
Welcome drink
Welcome drinks are a great way to create a relaxed atmosphere among your guests. Depending on the time of year, you might want to have mulled wine, sherry, Pimms, bucks fizz, or champagne. We can always tailor the welcome drink to suit you and supply soft drinks for the children and those who are not drinking alcohol. We also offer a few drinks packages which are great value for money. Canapés
What a great way to set the scene, and keep your hungry guests going! After all a wedding can be a long day. Our staff are great at blending in with the guests and offering a little something to whet their appetite, before settling down to the wedding breakfast. Canapés are perfect to serve along side a welcome drink, so why not take a look at out canapé menu on our menus page.
Wedding breakfast
We pride ourselves on our ability to bespoke the menu depending on what you want. However if you are struggling for some inspiration or want a better idea of the kind of dishes we can offer, then take a look at the sample menus on the menus page. As a company we like to support our local suppliers without compromising on quality. The best thing to do is take a look and then arrange to come in and meet with our chefs Rob or Jenny and they will help advise you on the best menu to suit your day.
The Toast
This is your day so you can toast Gin & Tonics if you like. Whether you decide on Champagne, Cava or some classy cocktail, we will make sure everybody has a glass of something. We have various drinks packages which include a toast and you can see our drink prices on the wine list in the menus section.
Evening buffet
Hog roasts? BBQ? finger buffet? so many options... A lot will depend on your numbers and whether your guests will have eaten earlier in the day. As we are supporting local suppliers you can rest assure the pig for the hog roast speaks with a west country accent and probably drinks somerset cider! This also applies to the BBQ meat and cheeses.
Outside bar
So you've found a venue. It's a perfect size, great location and looks stunning. But it has no bar... We have a full bar setup offering a selection of draught (beer, lager & cider), spirits, wine and soft drinks. We can also arrange a license if the venue doesn't have one.
Wine with the meal
One great advantage of using some venues is that you can supply your own wine. Now this does have it's advantages. Like choosing your favourite wine to serve with the meal and being able to source it for a cheaper price than you would pay in the restaurants. There are also disadvantages. How much do you buy? Where will you get wine glasses from? Who will serve it? Now obviously we will serve it for you (a charge may apply) but guessing how much wine you will need can be a hard question to answer. The Olive Bowl offer a specifically tailored wine list at reasonable prices. You will pay a little more than the local supermarket but our prices include glassware, service, delivery and best of all it is sale or return. So you won't be drinking wine every night for 3 weeks.
Equipment hire
The Olive Bowl hire all sorts of equipment. Tables (5ft & 6ft rounds), chairs, linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, service staff and even chefs! We very competitively priced, just contact us to discuss prices.
Helium balloons
We can provide helium balloons to match your colour scheme. You can have 3 on each table, bunches either side of the top table , or a balloon arch over the cake table. Ask at your meeting for more information.
Entertainment
We have some great contacts for wedding entertainment. We have our own in house DJ and entertainer. Check our directory for bands and other entertainment we recommend.
